Emergency and trauma radiology is a growing new subspecialty that has fast become an integral component for patient care 24 hours a day seven days a week.

The mission of the Vancouver General Hospital Emergency/Trauma Radiology Department is to maintain the highest quality of interpretation and treatment for the critically ill or injured patients. This is achieved through the use of latest technologies in medical imaging, optimization of protocols and procedures utilized.The enhancement of teaching to medical students, residents, and fellows is emphasized and is achieved by the strong enthusiasm and passion from the staff radiologists in teaching.

Our department believes that patient care is best served by pioneering innovative research and maintaining excellent collegial relationships between emergency and trauma medicine.  We are proud to introduce the beginning of an online component that will further enhance educational within the department and make new collaborations possible
